I have cut all my pieces for my scrap-buster values quilt. Most of the pieces have been stitched, and the squares cut in half – tonight I lined up all the squares to see how it will come together. Its very rainbow!!

I’m not really sure what to think… It might be a good one for a picnic, where a few grass stains wont spoil the look.

Inspired by this, I made this:

I am not entirely happy with it, next time I’d spend more time playing with the ‘font’, and I have some long red stitches running behind the lettering that I hope wont be visible when I frame it.

11 weeks till christmas – I’m just saying…

Isn’t it amazing how this www has brought the world to your fingertips?

I nearly checked my calender to see if the dates for the A line skirt classes fitted, before realising I might not make it to Philadelphia and back in time ;-) )

Yes I am blonde.

Girls and I are enjoying the slower pace that is the school holidays.

Maddy and I share a love of anything craft related, and managed to complete Matilda in just a day. Her body is made of an old fleecy blanket that was used as a nursing blanket when both girls were newborns. It has a lovely softness to it, reminding me of the hours of cuddling, sleeping and nursing those 9-10 years ago.

We added longer hair just like cupcakes for clara.

Pattern from hop skip jump.

WIPs – scarf, witches cape and ninja glasses October 25, 2008

Filed under: children, craft, crochet, halloween, scarf, sewing — craftymim @ 9:55 pm

I have finally finished making all the flower-embellished granny squares for the scarf. And in the mean time spring has sprung and the scarf season is over! Well, I have decided that this scarf must be worn at least once, be if with a bikini or not!!

I have made a pattern tonight, and cut my pieces for a black suede-like cape/jacket thingy for DD8 who has asked to be a witch this year for halloween. Last year was very easy – ready made she-devil costumes with a bit of eyeliner and a lot of teasing of the hair. I will put it togehter tomorrow, which leaves me 4 days next week to buy one if everything falls to pieces.

The remnants turned into simple but effective ninja-masks for the DDs and friend.

I made him from a pattern, but was talking to my girlfriend on the phone at the same time, and I think my attention was divided 75:25 to the phone! Later I made another two, based on memory, one’s got a short little head, the other is far to big to fit even the monster eggs our chooks lay. When will I learn to do just one thing at a time, AND follow a pattern?? LOL

I’m booked in on a stall at a ‘baby and childrens market’ in Apil. I’m wanting to sell some of the grls clothes, those that are too good for the op shop, and might make me enough money for two new winter outfits for them.
I’m also testing the market to see if there is interest in my little family of aliens.
They’re named after ‘burbs around here. They’re fun to make, playing around with the fabrics, and I think they have personality! Mordy is the big cousin who would always look out for you in the playground.
Deciding on a price was really hard, I’ll start with AU$20, thats about 12 Euro.

Untill I discovered it was because I had chosen a setting that allowed photos to take up very little memory. Duh! Now we have more MB’s to play with, and my photos are crisp!

This is a hot pink gerbera from my dear friends funeral today.
